Few dogs are as pleasant, affectionate and attractive as the Cocker Spaniel they are also highly adaptable and, while preferring the outdoors, will happily forage around the house retrieving all sorts of things it thinks you might need - slippers, socks, toys and towels.  With its lively intelligence and sense of mischief, the Cocker makes a wonderful addition to the family, and for a single person, this dog is a constant and faithful companion.  With children, the Cocker is just the right height to play with little ones.  The bond between the Cocker and Children of the house is soon established, and they play happily together.  This dog must be respected, however, and teasing is not an option.  Reciprocal kindness is the rule.

The Cocker Spaniel does have a mind of its own and must have kind but firm treatment. Their main aim in life is to please their owner, although sensitive and sometimes stubborn, this dog needs discipline tempered with kindness.  Your dog will repay you with total devotion and follow you to the ends of the earth.
